If you've got one or two folding you're going to see those highs and lows. I got it as well on dial up as I would store a few WU's and send them all at the same time when it was convenient.

The more machines you have the higher the probability that they're going to be submitting results at different times so the graph should look smoother.

Over the past 3 months I've had about 15-20 different computers turn in units for me. Some members here have a lot more computers folding in their name. Just set up folding on all the computers you want to, but be sure to use the exact same username (Caps DO matter) and team number if you want them to add up to the same account.

Talking

I might have to build a nice little folding machine out of all my spare components and have it folding 24/7.

That's where it starts.
The highs and lows are a caused by a combination of, number of machines, folding capability of those machines, the particular WUs being sent out. Recently there has been a lot of variation because stanford is giving out a lot of 200+ point proteins... These things are monsters and take 2-3 days to complete. If all my machines get'em at the same time, I could see 0 for results, then the following day get massive returns.
