Depending on which model you believe, it looks like the eye may pass about 50 miles to the North of here. At least for now they are not evacuating the marinas, so about 25 live aboards are sticking it out... That could change.. Everything on deck has been removed. I might take my computers up to the cars first thing in the morning.. So folding may be put on hold... Charlie put me off by three days...

Hey TTP - at least you are safe so far.
Btw, I think you got the FAH signature badge wrong. Did you put in TimeToPaws between the FAH tags?

I'll test:
AOA Folding @Home

Ah, it seems to be working. You should change it so it works.. I think a simple space in there can mess it up.

Give him the whole tag to make it easier. Then he can just copy and paste into his sig.

PHP Code:
[f@h]TimeToPaws[/f@h

Well hurricane Francess is over...Things got a little soggy here as the eye passed about 30 miles North of us. The winds were about 30mph (sustained)
gust up to the high 50'. The storm surge was about 6 feet above normal,
but we had another 5-6 feet before we had to really worry. Our marina has
floating docks, so if the surge had been high then the docks could float up
off the poles... The boat handled the storm just fine.. We had decided not to evacuate, but to stay on the boat this time. Electircity had been pretty good, only lost it twice,
and then only for a few minutes. I only lost about 4 hours worth of folding..

And now we have Ivan.... Busy summer

Edit: I see that my badge is working now. Didn't notice at first that I had a space between the first tag and the "T"....

Good to see you back in one piece. Saw some of the pictures on TV, didn't look comfortable at all.

Looks like Ivan will enter the Gulf and give Florida a break.

One thing you learn living on a sailboat AND in florida, NEVER NEVER take the forecast as anything but a good guess... Charlie had been forcasted to hit Tampa Bay, which would have really ruined my day , Then a day and a half out the hurricane took a right turn and caught all the people that assumed it would just pass them by. As it was I couldn't fold for three days..

So depending on the jet stream and the atlantic high Ivan could be another problem.. I do have to give the hurricane center credit though, the computer models are much better then even a couple of years ago..

Hmmmm.. As I was mentioning in the last message depending on what the jet stream does you just may see it... We need a break.. The ground is saturated to the point that any more rain just runs off and causes flooding.. Now as long as all of Tampa Bay doesn't flood over 12 feet, living on a boat has advantages.. But cat 4 winds are not fun...

If you follow the Tuesday am line to the west coast of florida, that is right over downtown St Pete.. Not far from where we are... I think we are going to evacuate this time.. Means no folding for a few days..
