Woohoo! I Finally Broke 1k

I finally broke a thousand points today.
I started in February of this year with my little 800 mhz Duron oc'd to 1000 mhz. It's been running 24/7 except for lan parties and maintenance.

We just picked up my son's new case today so the shopping for a motherboard has started. I've been looking at the refurbs on newegg and at that XP1600.

It's looking like the second thousand will come faster than the first.

What's the difference between the 8K3A and the 8K3A+? Is this one a better board than the 8KHA for example? How's the 8K7A compare. I guess I need to start reading up on all of them.

I have to admit I'm kind of hooked on the epox board I have though I wish it were a 'plus'.

Both 8K3A and 8K3A+ are 8KHA+ based boards, 8K3A+ has onboard HighPoint RAID. The primary differences between the 8K3A series and the 8KHA+ is that the 8K3A boards have Vcore up to 2.2V, greater current stability, a linear memory power supply rather than a switching supply, and they use the KT333 chipset rather than the KT266a chipset.

8K5A2+ and 8K5A3+ are EPoX KT333 boards that are quite different in many respects from there previous KT333/KT266/KT266a boards, and are supposed to overclock even better, 2+ has two channel RAID, 3+ has four channel RAID.

All of these boards are the **** when it comes to memory bandwidth an overclocking.
