I know all about this already as I was right in the middle of it!

I probably know more about this OS than any of those guides could tell me as I'm already hacking the registry...

Sorry, I get carried away sometimes... LOL
I appreciate your posts & read most of them, including this one.
You can always learn more if you just keep open to it...

Yet again I'm going on day 4 with very little sleep so my mind isn't working exactly right either.
Insomnia thing again..it's been really bad this month.

LOL. I do beleive Daniel was messing with you a little.. Seeing how you aren't sleeping maybe we get the crazed insomniac's guide to Windows7.

I'm not much interested in resource usage or registry hacks, I'll either throw it the resources it needs or hack what needs to be hacked, but more interested in the features and programs Windows7 ships with and how well they work. Media management and players, networking, Burning app etc etc.. (Things like can it play a DVD out of the box or do I need another piece of software just for the codec) Is it compatible with the few apps I have to run under Windows, such as my business and racing apps that have years of needed information attached to them?

Not to worry! We are all good friends and neighbours here.

Sorry your going without sleep! Wish I had something for that. Have you tried staying awake, refusing to let go and fall asleep? Forcing your eyes to remain open?

Just a thought...":O}

So far ccper, the only programs that haven't installed for me is PerfectDisk 2008, WINner Tweak, and a couple of others I can't remember.
Nero Ultra Enhanced 7 installed no problem & burns disks.

But for the most part it works out of the box on HW.
It saw all my drives right away & even installed drivers for the graphics card. So yea it does that.
I just like the fact that it has the eyecandy of Vista (DX10-11) but the speed & performance of XP PRO!
W7 is Great for gaming & all my games look so good too using D10 with very good FPS.

Just installed the windows 7 beta on my netbook, and it is FAST!

I mounted the image on daemon tools started installation and went to make some lunch, by the time I came back from eating it I was looking at the enter your details screen in windows 7. After that W7 booted up with all the correct drivers (except for 1) already installed unlike for XP where i had to install them all myself.

Also in terms of speed it is just as fast as xp.

Its a Good start.

Everything installed fine except bitdefender. I keep getting an error on installation that bit defender doesn't have enough privileges to copy a certain file and then it fails.

Though it must still be considered very early days for Win 7, I have to say people seem to be having a very much better experience of it than was evident with Vista...let alone BETA Vista...

MS can never be my friend. Yet I am happy that your finding something of use to you. I know that feeling! ":O}

Just finished burning it. Even though I don't want to, I'll wait till tomarrow to install it. I've got another drive just waiting for it!

EDIT:
Has any one else gone with the 64 bit version?
