When people encounter a problem with their PC, they often go to the Web and do a search to see if others have had the problem. If they are lucky, someone has found a fix and listed the steps on either a support document or within a user forum

I don't think I'd trust an ActiveX program running around in my system making changes that I have no idea of what it does...
I'd rather "fix it" myself.
Not to mention you would learn nothing this way...

But I guess this will be good for the average Idiot user of Windows that only knows
how to turn on the computer and click stuff to make it go...

I see the potential for no end of mischief here. I'm POSITIVE there will be systems that will end up worse off after this tool does its thing.

The problem with these things is, when they don't work for someone, they call a friend to fix it, and the person fixing it has no idea what settings may have been changed by the wizard, or exactly which wizard or "fix it" they used.

For me, this is just one of the ten thousand things MS does, usually no better than ten thousand other people doing it.... INSTEAD of making the best OS the world has ever seen.
