Exclamation Windows 7 Official RC Released Early Released NOW!!!

They decided to release the Windows 7 RC a day early so it's available right now (Monday/ 05-04-09) on either TechNet or the main Windows 7 site.

So if you were waiting for the "Official" Microsoft release download before getting it you can do that right now because I am!!!

I'm getting full download speed too of 3 Mbs!
The traffic is very low right now & this is the best time to download what you want before the big push tomorrow when everyone will be looking to download it.

I'll have both the 32-bit & 64-bit within 4 hours at my current speeds & will finish the 32-bit & start the 64-bit before going to bed

So download away guys!!!

NOTE: This Windows 7 RC evaluation is for 1 YEAR! (Till June of 2010)
So you can use this even after the final version is released & you will have plenty of time to get used to the new system & layout.
Of course I'm already used to it as I've been using it everyday since January...

More... Windows 7 Release Candidate debuts early

Did the file turn out to be the same file as last week's leaked version as you suspected?

Yes, the hash checksums match exactly on both the 32 & 64 bit RC's.

Even though it would be very, very difficult to keep the hashes the same if the bits were changed, it's not impossible
acourding to Áedán & he knows programming & coding so...
Just to be on the safe side I'm downloading & installing the "Official" released RC from Microsoft.
Can't be too careful now a days...
Especially if you use it as your everyday OS as I do.

Mine copy activated as genuine about a couple hours ago. I'm downloading x32 now, why I don't know. I'll go back and start x64.

Same reason I'm doing it, because there is that tiny, teeny weenie possible chance of something being hidden deep inside the OS & there's absolutely no reason to take a chance with the official MS downloads available.

If Áedán told me there was no way that the bits could be altered & have the hashes remain the same
I'd totally trust the other download, but since he said it was still possible I am going to go ahead & reinstall with the MS RC download
as much as a PITA as this will be.
He knows programming & coding, I don't...

Thumbs up Still in the process of putting programs back...rrr

I knew this was going to be a long process as I'm only half done after doing this all day. It wasn't just programs & drivers, but also settings & tweaks too. That's what takes the most time I think is setting everything up just so, so that you get optimal performance from your system & the installed software & drivers.

Speaking of which there's a new Windows 7 Geforce driver version 185.81 that I installed that's working very well that I'm testing.
No tweaks needed to install this one as it supports 6 series cards & up.
This also includes Ambient Occlusion & the newest PhysX 9.09.0408 drivers.

But I got a good install & all my programs are working perfectly so far.
I'm also doing regular image backups as I go along so I have Acronis restore points to go back to if anything gets buggered which my Net drivers got. But I was able to fix that without restoring.

Thumbs up Almost done putting back all the programs & stuff

Man, what a chore it is putting back all the programs, updates & tweaks!
It's taken me almost 2 days straight work to do it, but I got
a perfectly working OS & backup images of it so I'm good to go now!

No more of this [upgrading / re-installing] until the Final Windows 7 Ultimate RTM is out & ready...
But at least I got a full year now before I have to do this again...
Whew!!!
