Thumbs up Nvidia Windows 7 Geforce/ION v185.85 WHQL Drivers!

Well I thought that the new Windows 7 Geforce 185.81 drivers were very good and they are but the newest release 185.85 drivers are even better!!!

Now THIS is the Highest score I've ever had on 3DMark Vantage which is P7205!

GeForce/ION Driver Release 185.85 WHQL for Windows 7

INFO on this newest Nvidia WHQL driver...

This is a WHQL-Certified driver supporting GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, and 200-series desktop GPUs and ION. This driver package installs WDDM v1.1 for GeForce 8, 9, and 200-series (DirectX 10) GPUs and WDDM v1.0 for GeForce 6 and 7-series (DirectX 9) GPUs.

This driver supports all of the new Windows 7 GPU-accelerated DirectX APIs: DirectX Compute, Direct2D, DirectWrite, and DXVA-HD.

New in Release 185 drivers:

* Adds support for the new GeForce GTX 275 GPU.
* Adds support for Ambient Occlusion – the newest NVIDIA Control Panel feature to offer enhanced 3D gaming realism exclusively to GeForce GPUs.
* Adds support for CUDA 2.2 for improved performance in GPU Computing applications. See CUDA for more details.
* Expands GPU hardware acceleration for the NVIDIA Video Encoding library to GPUs with less than 32 cores. Applications using this library include CyberLink PowerDirector 7, Nero Move it 1.5, Loilo SuperLoiloScope MARS, and CyberLink MediaShow Espresso.
* Accelerates performance in several 3D applications. The following are examples of improvements measured with Release 185 drivers vs. Release 181 drivers (results will vary depending on your GPU, system configuration, and game settings):
o Up to 25% performance increase in The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
o Up to 22% performance increase in Crysis: Warhead with antialiasing enabled
o Up to 11% performance increase in Fallout 3 with antialiasing enabled
o Up to 14% performance increase in Far Cry 2
o Up to 30% performance increase in Half-Life 2 engine games with 3-way and 4-way SLI
o Up to 45% performance increase in Mirror’s Edge with antialiasing enabled
* Automatically installs the new PhysX System Software version 9.09.0408.
* Supports GeForce Plus Power Pack #3. Download these FREE PhysX and CUDA applications now!
* Numerous bug fixes. Refer to the release documentation notes.
* Users without US English operating systems can select their language and download the International driver here.

Existing Support:

* Supports single GPU and NVIDIA SLI technology on DirectX 9, DirectX 10, and OpenGL, including 3-way SLI, Quad SLI, and SLI support on SLI-certified Intel X58-based motherboards.
* Includes full support for OpenGL 3.0.
* Supports NVIDIA PhysX acceleration on a dedicated GeForce graphics card. Use one card for graphics and dedicate a different card for PhysX processing for game-changing physical effects. Learn more here. Note: GPU PhysX is supported on all GeForce 8-series, 9-series and 200-series GPUs with a minimum of 256MB dedicated graphics memory.
* Supports GPU overclocking and temperature monitoring by installing NVIDIA System Tools software.

You've led me down the garden path untill i find myself in nothing but rose thorns!
I installed the new drivers, and yes I clean up first, and yes in safe mode. Is the fact that I'm not a complete idiot been put asside? at least for now?
I'm not overclocking per cheap compound so I just run 3d vantage for the fun of it.
I don't quite know how you did it Muffin, but 3 BSOD later I bailed of these funny drivers. and ran checkdisk to fix the dammage to my HD.

P>S> OH, did I bother to tell you that the Micron DD3's I have are junk?
Memtest just takes a glance at them and heads for the Pub. Might have something to do with it.

I think graphics drivers in general just don't like you PPM!

Did you have problems with the 185.81 beta drivers, or did you even try them out...

Anyways, these new drivers are working extremely well for me on my system...so I likey Mikey!

I was running the 182.50's and now I'm running the new ones. Everything is fine unless I stress it- thought that is the first BSOD so this RC has to be in play some how. It doesn't concern me at the moment. I used cheap thermal compound trying to save a buck-so I'm not OC'ing at all-makes life simpler. Money is to tight to spend on the new mod and there is no point in tearing mine down if I'm not going to start that.
SSA made a clarical error and cut Mareens check by $300 for last month and she was worried about how I would react so she didn't tell me for a week or so. In that time frame, i know mony was tight last month but i spot a $1600 wheel chair for $150 and that can't be passed up. I transfer the money in paypal back to the bank to help, it's not quite enough but I'll make it work- but I don't know about the $300 yet.
Then the first NSF comes in, and the bleeding starts-I'm back to wheeling and dealing! I didn't get mad at her or any thing. No point in it. She felt bad enough and I can't bitch and yell at some one as ill as she is. It wiped us out completely but what the heck. Obama is comming to the rescue and potatoes are cheap! How cheap is the beer these days?
I've got a bathtub-with my back it might take a day to get it out. $50 + shipping. I've got two laptops one is brand new this morning-$200 but be quick- Uncle tom will want his in the morning! Oh and don't forget, I've got a 15in flat panel door stop with four USB connections and stereo! Make offer!

I'd say stability has everything to do with it especially when OCing!

Where did you get your CPU_Z image? I kind of like that one. Can it be modified a little as you build?

That's the CPU-Z Validation signature...
Use CPU-Z to Validate your OC,
then increase the image size to where it more readable,
then select the image (area select) with a screen capture program,
then upload it to a photo sharing site (PhotoBucket),
then copy the link into your sig box on the forum.

Pain in the ass huh! LMAO!
But that's me...hehehehehe!

While you are at it, Look at the CPU-Z Validation Hall of Fame & World Records OC's! Can you say 8180.4 MHz!!!
