I'm going to have to hustle some side jobs if I can this summer to earn some money for this OS as I don't want to go back to XP or Vista once the RC runs out.
I'm spoiled by Windows 7 now & I'd like to keep it that way if possible.
I'm thinking around $200 for the Upgrade or OEM version of Windows 7 Ultimate...it has to be Ultimate or nothing!!!

I'd rather be shot. It better be better than my experience with it.

And this was the 32-bit or 64-bit experience?

The x86 OS I love...very fast & ALL of my games play very well on it...but x64 was another story as I ran in to problems with that on some of my games...

I've been using W7U now since it first public beta release on a day to day basis I really "know" this OS now!
Super easy to use & extremely fast once everything's put in place & setup right!

I tried both. 64 bit was a disaster. 32 bit did not allow much of my software to install. Programs that I count on. It works in Vista but not 7. typical MS BS if you ask me.

I might be mistaken, but it sounds to me like more than just compatibility issues with Windows 7 here...

I sense genuine anger here...

I've had nothing but a good experience with Windows 7 with the occasional issue here & there most of which can be resolved with just a little bit of work even with it not being the final release.

I guess some have good & other bad.
Sorry yours was bad because the good is really good & I suppose the bad is really bad.

I guess I expected something different that vista. They changed a few things but it is same same to me. Except that some things did not work at all and it did in vista. The only reason I am irritated is that i bought into the hype. I have tried several reinstalls and Nada. I even set my system to stock, just wrong in itself, and it did not help. Yes it booted quicker and it installed fast. Two games would not work in SLI and what is the point of having two cards, short of folding, if I can't game in SLI?

I'm sure between MS & the game maker this issue will be fixed on the final release.
Btw, are you talking about the beta or the RC release as the RC release has 2000 fixes in it.
For me this RC has been rock solid stable with very good performance all the way around.

I guess I gave up before the RC release.

Ahh...that explains a lot!
Those like you that tried the beta & had it leave a bad taste now find the RC to be much different in the user experience.

Sam if I had a 2 card SLI system I'd test this out for you on the RC, but I don't.
So I can't tell you if this has been fixed yet or not.
But Nvidia has released new drivers (185.85) since the beta release for the W7 OS & they are now the same as for Vista & XP.
