Heh Dan, you're a riot.

Please open the .bashrc file you created, and change the path!

In other words, change YOUR_FAH_DIRECTORY_HERE to whatever you call your actual client directory. In your screenshot it looks like it is .FAHClient [although I'm not sure why you made it a hidden directory]

So...I think that:

Code:
alias fah='cd /home/daniel/.FAHClient && ./fah6 -smp -verbosity 9'
should give you lift-off.

I didn't make it a hidden file, I hit "view hidden files" to see it!! Maybe I shouldn't have?

I'm confused here, I see where I missed your intention, sorry.":O}

Should it look like this:

alias fah='cd /home/daniel/folding && ./fah6 -smp -verbosity 9'

Dan, what is the path to your client directory? I don't know it for sure. Only you know where you put the client files.

Code:
alias fah='cd /path/to/your/folding/directory && ./fah6 -smp -verbosity 9'

Ok we've got it!

alias fah='cd /home/daniel/folding && ./fah6 -smp -verbosity 9'

Type: fah and she pops right up!

Many thanks Bob. Be assured that I've taken notes and hidden them all over my computer for future use.

Unlike Windows, Linux doesn't have an attribute you set to make a file hidden. In it's place, you have to start the name with a full stop to signify that it is supposed to be hidden.

You may rm the file 'fah' and also the directory '.FAHClient'

It's a good idea to do this because it will lead us into confusion if we have another problem. the directory is a remnant of the v7 install, and the file is that script you don't need.

Yep, all it contain was a fah control file and as we don't like fah control anymore...gone. same with fah file. That was just a start up option for fah.

Thanks ThunderRd. Unless you see furtherer room for improvement, I think you have me squared away...again...":O}

I've clicked on just about every link we have, I can't find the simple list of our folding at home team in order of rank...

It looks like I'm completing 4-5 Gomacks a day, but I wanted to check the actual figure.

Sorry, that's not the one I'm looking for. I use to access it from fah control

it just lists our FAH membership team in order of ranking. But I guess I can make do. Thanks Thunder Rd! ":O}

T.R.?....how closely can you track my wu production and the points that are assigned for that production.

I'm getting cool enough here in Ravensdale to go for a 5.0 cpu setting and still hold temps in the realm of the reasonable.

I'm curious to see if I get...extra points just for being insanely fast. as well, how much more productive 5.0 than my standard winter 4.8 settings.

I'm just curious, so dot go to any trouble, just if you have it at the tips of your fingers.":O}

Thank you anyway, as I said I was just curious as to how they assign points. While I have definitely been the beneficiary of their methodology...

It still seems rather unfair to me that I passed my previous accumulation of points earned with several computers running 24/7 over several years, with just one box in a matter of weeks...

Anyway thanks.":O}
