Orbs interface is designed with the end user in mind. Even someone who is not tech-savvy should be able to master the basics in a few minutes. You could, if you wished to do so, set up Orb so friends and family can access your files while on the move – making it easy to share photos etc. However, I would stress the importance of security – you don’t want hem accessing everything so you need to be careful how you set it up. Functional and simple The great thing about Orb is it is extremely simple. It’s also very functional and works like a dream, I had no problem streaming music or videos through a 2mb Broadband connection. They simply load up like normally. This could be great for going to parties and being able to load up your music collection through a friends Pc or Laptop with just a few clicks. No software, no Hard Drives or USB keys to lose or go wrong. All you need to ensure is that your broadcast Pc is connected to the internet.
Streaming a song through WMP 11. Streaming was easy and fast, buffering takes all of 2/3 seconds and the song is from then on never interrupted. The same goes for videos. Being able to stream my media perfectly is for me fantastic. In conclusion Overall, I found Orb a highly useful and very functional piece of kit that really helps you be able to go about your life hands free – free of needless hardware, free of worry that you might lose an important piece of work and free of hassle. Once your setup, you don’t have to worry about anything. It’s been great for me to be able to go and see someone far away, and still be able to access everything on my PC without having to download it to a hard drive or something. I can just login, and I’m instantly able to stream all my music and videos and work on my files. Orb is simply fantastic. The website has proven so far to be 100% reliable and it’s quick and easy to use. I would highly recommend substituting your USB Dongles, portable hard drives, floppies (??) and replacing them with a simple yet genius bit of software – or just using Orb as a sort of back up. We’ve seen this attempted before, but I’m not convinced anything is as comprehensive or functional than Orb. Comment in the forum.
