Toshiba is launching a new flash chip with an 8 giga byte capacity on a single 70nm chip. It is said to be 40% faster than previous technology with write speeds as high as 6MBps and a read speed of up to 60MBps.

Toshiba and ScanDisk will be producing these chips in the summer.
