After two years of suppling Xeon based servers, Sun has now switched to AMD Opertons for its x86 workstations and one to four processor servers.

For the time being Sun will be AMD only and is only likely to ship Intel machines again if the demand is there.

Also, HP will be unveiling their new Operton blade server this coming Monday, along with a conventional Operton based server.
