I have recently bought the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM lens, for my EOS 400D body, a.k.a Digital Rebel XTi.  I've now been using this combination for about two weeks, and can give some feedback on how the camera and lens perform together.

Introduction

I have been using my EOS 400D, with the basic 18-55mm kit lens, for the last nine months.  A few weeks back, I took the plunge and decided to invest in a professional Canon lens.  So, I've written this article after having used the lens, near enough, every day since then.

I purchased the lens from dzone2 on ebay.co.uk, they're based in Hong Kong, and it was delivered to me in the U.K., within two days.

The EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM lens is a popular choice, given that it is at the lower price range, and is very versitile. It features fluorite and Super UD lens elements for sharp results. Focusing can be manually controlled, or done automatically via an ultrasonic motor.
