Need an AMD-based Dell, Dude? Print
Written by Gizmo

I can only guess that the really hot place where demons roam has finally frozen over.  Seperah has clued us to the fact that you can get Dell PCs with AMD chips in them.  Seems Dell is offering the Athlon64 X2 3800+, 4400+, and 4800+ dual core, as well as the Athlon64 3700+ single core, and the Athlon64 FX57, at prices ranging from $254 to $1,103.

The information can be found on Dell's web site, here.

You can discuss this most interesting development with Seperah and the rest of us, in the forums.

Update:  DigiTimes reports that Dell PC contract makers are developing AMD-based solutions.  FoxConn is developing servers, and Asus is developing motherboards for Dell that will utilize AMD Athlon64 technology.
