Problems with HP Monitors? Print
Written by Gizmo
Monday, 23 January 2006

It would appear that HP has some problems in pictures; specifically with displaying them. Apparently, the HP Pavilion F1703 monitor has a bad habit of going black at about the end of the warranty period. The problem appears to be related to bad solder joints on the inverter board that powers the backlight for the display, as several people have reported successful repairs by redoing the solder joints. If you have one of these monitors, you should be aware of this. In addition, there appears to be some effort to get a Class Action lawsuit against HP going. You can read more at the CNet Reviews Peripheral Forum.

Do you have one of these monitors? Is this a continuing problem? If so, tell us about your experience in the forums!
