What makes this mod really nifty is that  it uses the actual drive platters to create the clock hands; there are only 12 LEDs (6 red and 6 blue) yet it is able to produce a fully functional analog clock display complete with second hand.  Complete instructions, parts list, and code for the PIC microcontroller can be downloaded from the author's site.
