Page 2 of 3 The alien ship is HUGE, i mean really big; you could spend a lot of time just looking around, and it is rendered beautifully. One great thing about this game is that the tweaks that Human Head Studios did to the Doom3 engine allow even older systems to run it with decent settings, so you don't have to have a super high end system to enjoy the graphical beauty. The alien bad guys that are out to get you fight fairly well. Although the AI could have been better, it still offers a challenge. Most of the game you will be fighting the standard alien soldier (see screenshot below), but as you progress deeper into the ship, you see tougher, and weirder enemies, and some of them are really creative. Even though they get tougher, you will always have a sufficient weapon to dispatch them with. The weapons in Prey are pretty much the standard fare, but they all have an alien twist as they are all alive in your hand. Your basic weapon is a type of assault rifle with a zooming scope for sniping,
then you have a type of grenade launcher, shotgun, rocket launcher, etc. My favorite, and probably the best weapon in the game is a type of energy weapon that can fire different types of energy, depending on what type you charge it up with, such as ice, plasma, electricity, and a pure energy beam that wreaks total destruction. All the weapons look great and are quite inventive, and they feel right when you fire them. The things that make this game really stand out are the ability to switch gravity, walk on walls, travel through portals, and the very cool “spirit walk”. The puzzles in the game require you to utilize all of these abilities together, and makes for some very interesting challenges. There are certain areas where you can walk on sections of the walls and ceiling to access different areas.
