Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)

The SNES was first released in Japan in 1990, in the US in 1991 and Europe in 1992. It sold 49 million units worldwide. In Japan it was known as the Super Famicom.

The SNES CPU is a customised 16-bit Ricoh called a 5A22, running at 3.58MHz. On-board RAM size is 128K. The video memory is 64kB of SRAM.
