UK hacks are hacked off by the Digital Economy Act

THE NATIONAL UNION OF JOURNALISTS (NUJ) has signed off on a campaign to back legal action challenging the Digital Economy Act (DEA).

According to journalism.co.uk, a portal for the UK hackerrati, the NUJ set the policy to oppose court actions based on the recently passed Act.

The concern of the NUJ is that the Act could be used as a weapon against sites like Wikileaks. It was also drawn to support companies like Talk Talk, which, as we reported back in February, has been outspoken in its opposition to the Act.
