I use to use a joystick to play everything. Then a friend convinced me to get use to just a mouse and keyboard for FPS. Once I figured out where I wanted everything it's sooooooo much easier to play. With mouse look you can control where you look by moving the mouse. Then I just change move forward to right mouse button and shoot to left mouse button. That puts your major functions all on the mouse leaving your other hand for the keyboard. I believe in the K.I.S.S. factor (not implying anything). The only thing I use a joystick for now is flight sims.
