Fried Soyo Dragon Plus, what next?

I just fried my Soyo Dragon Plus last night, and so I need a new motherboard. I am going to borrow a ABit KT266A board that has RAID on it for a while, but I need my own new board.

Any recommendations? I have been thinking about something in the KT400 or the nForce2 range...

Also, I'll post pic's of the 'burnt' traces later, once I have my computer back up and running.

Thank you all in advance.

EPoX 8RDA+. One word. AWESOME!!! Don't tackle it though if you're feeling unlucky...

Humm, I'll look in to it over at NewEgg...

Wow! Very nice! nForce2, onboard LAN, sound, 6 PCI, and a cool passive HS on the NorthBridge!

And at only $128, it pwnz

/me marks the EPoX 8RDA+ on my XMas list

I was poking around on NewEgg in the nForce2 section, and came across a very nice Asus board... I like it better then the EPoX, and it's only $153 vs $128...

A Soyo with scorch marks? I thought they made them better than they did since I had two Soyo's with scorch marks. Tsk.

They do, but I shorted out some things... You know the add-on sound thing that comes with them that plugs into a header and goes in a PCI slot? Well, I was removing it with out unplugging my system, while it was running... Shorted one of the AGP traces (I think I bumped the AGP card with the sound-addin thing...) but my AGP card still works, and so does everything else (I am using my comp right now, but with another mobo )

I'll snap some pics later...

Ahh, so it was user error. Glad that never happened to me, as my nose grows even longer. Thank you for the reminder! Unplug that PS before venturing finger one into yer box!

Yes, so I have learned. Next time I will be sure to unplug all power before droping things on my GeForce4

And I think I will be getting one of the new nForce2 motherboards made by Asus, ABit, or EPoX
