Different ram?

is there much difference between cas 2.5 and cas2 ram when overclocking?

Yes. CAS 2 will usually outperform 2.5.

but by a noticeable margin? is it really worth it?

It really depends upon the desired use of it in the first place. If you are not planning to overclock the RAM, then I wouldn't think so. If you are even considering overclocking your system? Definitely! You will come to find that your RAM may be one of the biggest factors holding you back from those extra few MHZ's that keep you up at night in a cold sweat.....Course, I'd know nuthin bout that! LOL

Actually, the tighter timings allow you to relax the memory to crank further on it. In the BIOS you will see timings of 3.0 / 2.5 / and 2.0 if you anre already at 2.5 you have hust that much less room to manuver in. Make sense? I'm no expert on this, mind you.
