The multiplier on his CPU is locked at 11x.

I want to try unlocking the processor, but i cant get a staight answer from any website on how to do it, nor can i find any kits for doing it eighter! does anybody know the exact sequence for Unlocking the XP2500???

Cadaveca had a thread on this. Try searching for thread by Cadaveca about unlocking. Seems AMD may have changed the conventional unlocking method to something new.

cadaveca: i did enquire to AMD a while back about the date of manufacture on my processor, and i cant clearly remember but it was like FEB 2004 around the first or second week.

msi k8 neo fisr
athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.3 gigz
1.5 gigz geil pc 4400 (ddr 550)
2 raptors running raid 0
fx 5900 xt from msi with highest D.O.T. enabled

running 1024x768 resolution i was able to mange a score of 7239 3d marks. Published under user name of clay571@earthlink.net.

and actually, i did not the last trace, but the second one in, that was supposed to enable MP status.
personally tho, i have decided that unlocking is not the path that i prefer to take when overclocking a locked cpu...i'd rather just get some quality ram and up the fsb. fsb growth leadds to more info flowing all over, not just at the cpu, and will net you better overall results.
