case 124c CPU 127c

ECS K7SEM Athlon XP 1500+ stock
Speedfan was giveing me these temps yesterday and I blew it off as bad readings. Dispite folding 24/7, the sinks are cool to the touch. Rig has run 36hrs without a hiccup. The I instaled MBM and get the same readings. I had the bios set to 70c and every alarm MBM has went off, but the fact remains it's folding away. If those temps were real-I'd need a garden hose. What is going on with this thing?

You'll have to do some homework and see if your board is supported by Speedfan. I can almost guarantee that it isn't, by what you have posted. Speedfan will do what you are posting if the board, or some sensor on the board, isn't in the list of supported hardware.

MBM is deprecated software and hasn't been updated in a looong time [over a year?]

i figured Speed fan didn't support it-I tried 2 others-RealTemp and Core temp. neither one would support the CPU so they didn't install. MBM directly supported the motherboard and that made me a bit nervous.
[Forgive me, this is the 2nd night w/o sleep. Things arn't frazzled yet, but it's getting a little frayed around the edges!]
I knew the readings had to be wrong, sinks are cool, but ....
I'll just uninstall the monitors and forget about it.

Man, if the CPU was running at 261F it would melt through the board! That's smoken hot...
