K7V Dragon Plus & AMD XP2000

I have a SOYO K7V Dragon Plus MB with 512MB of RAM (single module). Have fitted a AMD XP2000 CPU but the board see it as a AMD 1250. Have updated the BIOS to latest version but no joy. Have overclocked upto a AMD 1900+ but any further and the PC refuses to go past POST. Does anyone know the correct BIOS settings for this setup? Cheers

Welcome to the board .

After you flashed the bios, did you reset the cmos jumper on the board?

Also be sure the bios update says it allows for the XP2000, if it does and it refuses this may be one only the manufacturer can address.

I stumbled into the same problem when I first installed my XP 1600. The problem is probably the FSB. The default for the Dragon Plus is 100 MHz. You have to set it for 133 MHz.

When you first enter the bios, enter SOYO COMBO Feature. In there is the option CPU Frequency Select. Change it from 100 MHz to 133 MHz.

If this is not the problem, then I am stumped.
