I'm Done-for a while.

This is my 3DMark Vantage and things seem stable. I haven't done any real testing yet but F@H is running. I'm using the 186.16 driver-wasn't going to play with that new 190.** To much beta for me! I'm liking things just the way they are.

I'd like to see the gaming performance of your machine myself...looks like your card as a decent improvement of graphics rendering power & speed over mine. Yea I know, you don't care about gaming but I do...

Arrow Vantage bench on drivers v186.16 - 32bit

Well just to see I ran a Vantage bench to see how the score would be running these new drivers & it actually went down by a little bit from the 185.85 drivers which was P7205.
Still in the same score area though so I'm going to leave them installed as the overall gaming performance seems to be better playing my games (smoother) which is what really counts more than a score does.

That's still looking good. I, and I think you as well, am not looking for the highest score. All I really want to know is where I stand. Just a gauge.
I've got 2 memory benchmarks I need to get to. My usual 4g G. Skills PC3-1333 I benchmarked then I added 2gb Micron PC3-1066 and benchmarked that setup. I haven't had the time to get back and crunch the numbers i won't understand! But Just to see!

As you already found out by now, increasing the amount of memory does not increase the speed nor does changing the type of memory.
Only changing your memory dividers will do that.

I've had my DDR2 800 Memory at 1000Mhz before.

I knew the amount of memory did nothing but the type?
Since I had the ability to check that one curiousity would NOT allow me just to let it go by taking a look.

I'm running the DDR3 OC'd a little. I ran benchmarks and a number of screenshots of that set up. I used a single 2GB stick.
I did the same with the DDR2 2GB stick. I had to make a few changes in bios, of course, and no OC.

There are only two screen shots of importance here.

Arrow Its not the type but the speed the RAM is running at!

You can have DDR-whatever in the slot, but its the speed it's running at that matters the most!
You can have DDR2-800 running at 1000MHz & it will show as DDR2-1000!

By the same token you can have DDR2 1066 running at 800MHz & it will show it as DDR2-800!

So it's the dividers & the speed that is the diff.
Hope that make sense to you now...

If you really want your RAM to fly, then set it async with the FSB!
That's IF it can run at that high of a speed...
That's how I got my RAM to run at 1002 @ 3.33GHz with the divider set at 2:3 which is the default async setting for the mobo.
I could only do that with 2Gbs installed though & had to loosen the timings to 5-5-5-15 and increase the voltage to 2.28v.

I've gotten the basics and noob has helped so I will have a start when I want to Get serious. I was just curious here..
In the process, I found out something I liked. OC is 3.47GHz (16% I think) and highest temp was 42c and that was the GPU! Everything else is 32c to 34c across the board. Thats W/o F@H running but that is as good as a lot get stock so I might have a good OC'er here-Temps go up a little les than 10c when F@H kicks in.

EDIT:
Ran Prime95 for 6 hours with out a error.

Thumbs up Latest Vantage Score on W7U with drivers v190.38

Here's my latest Vantage bench running W7U using the Nvidia 190.38 beta drivers...
These are now my highest scores so far! P7214
I like how they keep going up even though my clocks are the same speed!

Here's the initial run. Once my cooler gets here I'll see how far I can really push it.

I figured you would get much better than that. This thing should stretch it's legs once you can push the clocks.

With that in mind, I thought I'd give the Pentium D a ride.

Definitely my Gcard holding my scores down. The GTS 250 is really a rebranded G92 so you can't expect too much. Nice scores Sam!
