Tried it out on a linux box, and found I ran out of fish options! There's a modified version of the code that lets you run up to 10,000 fish, and I had to use that instead (link is here.)

Here's from the linux system (same hardware) - 27FPS with 2000 fish

I'm getting about 50 FPS with 250 Fish, but I'm seeing the same behavior you are Daniel; I'm seeing my CPU temp spike way up, but my GPU is barely ruffled. They've got to be making SOME use of the GPU, but I think it's relatively basic.

For reference, FF 14, Fedora 17, Intel? Core™ i7 CPU M 640 @ 2.80GHz (two cores + HT)

I don't know if it makes a difference since I've done this and had no extra fps after but take a look at this

Part 2: Debunking powerpenguin1's Windows vs. Linux videos. (Fish Tank benchmark) - YouTube

from 0:32 - 0:46

Tell me if it makes a difference for you pls.

Interesting; that version doesn't work for me; I get FPS, but no fish visible except rarely.

To be honest...That pretty much what I would expect from an MS user, a craving for abuse...":O}

How would I check to see if this is being offloaded to my Onboard the CPU graphics chip?

I don't really know of a way, other than looking at the GPU temp. Increased usage goes with increased temps.

My PCIe Graphics card sits at idle, which is why I'm wondering if the CPU's on board Graphics are in play...shouldn't be, I told the guys in the BIOS to shut her down for my GeForce.

The same is basically true here: running the bench bumps my GPU by maybe 2 degrees, and it's entirely possible that 2 degrees is actually bleedover from the 20 degree increase in temps on my CPU. And I don't have anything except my nVidia Quadro FX 2800M for video.

I noticed that the FPS start out slow, then pick up, is this net lag?

Yeah, I see the same thing. I don't believe it's net lag; rather it is the javascript engine building all of the objects that it needs. Once they are all built, then the FPS levels out.
