Cool just starting

but here is a tasty to look at. still waiting for the lower acrylic wrap for the Prometeia device, hard drives have to go in, so does the motherboard and one more fan, the 120mm on the hindged side panel, plus two cold cathodes and the baybus has to be neatly wired, no more fan noise, gonna run stuff @7v to 9v wherever possible.

i am debating on a new M/B, but am not convinced with the new NForce boards, yet, definately gettin some Corsair PC3500 XMS stuff to replace the Sammy PC2700 I am running @209x11 right now.

2400+ @2.3gig on a 8k3a+, and it will do much more, just don't like the temps when really cranking her up, chiller should be a whole new experience, yo.

Cool i

got it here

http://www.xtwerkz.com/chipcon_prometeia.htm

yeah, i have been at this for awhile, but this is the first commercial chiller i have ever bought, pelts i have played with but always had a condensation and heat related prob.

solved with this setup, won't even fire until the chiller reaches -33*c, runs cpu at around -40*c when completely chilled, really speeds up the interconnects, so even if i don't crank her some more, more than the 9x211, it will still be amazingly faster and prolly on much less vre, thus lowering temps even further.

only problem is the height, 31.5"/80cm, have to locate to side of desk and get extensions for the monitors, keyboard/mouse, some of the USB.

top and bottom are connected with five large, very large headed sheet metal screws, it is a single unit right now. can't wait to get the matching bottom panels on, it will stablize everything, right now the bottom case is a bit rickety with the blah/beige side panels removed.

yes, dual power supplies and led fans installed inside with red acrylic covers to show them off. secondary p/s denuded of all extra wires, only the 4 pin molex lines coming out, really cuts down on the wire clutter and it looks good.

it basically is not going to be lacking anything, USB 1.1/2.0/firewire/internal card reader (6 or 7 way reader), righteous ATI, raid onboard (this is why i don't like the 8dra+)for the options on ide. a pinnacle card is in the works, still very expensive, and i am thinking DVD burner too.

just added the 120mm today, got a low RPM model (1500/2300rpm adjustable, even lower running @7v).

about all that i need are an internal front bay card reader and firewire ports, looking at the combo options, and some new Corsair XMS PC3500 to replace my PC2700 Sammy, should help even more with the higher FSB speeds.

Xmas, maybe.

b

Cool 12x210

cpu @-10*c, notice chiller head temp, -35*c

200mhz faster than righteous air so far with limited clocking attempts.

gonna have to remove the vic pin mod for the hgiher x's methinks.

Cool custom case

with Prometeia acrylic cover as an extra, all buttons and LEDs, bag of mounting goodies, all grill covers and the box made to my specs, plus shipping, $300 even.

Prometeia device, $683 delivered.

fans, baybus, cold cathodes, paint, acrylic PS covers, and the cost of two new PS's, a new 6 in 1 film card/memory reader external modded to an internal front bay, front USB 2.0 ports, and anything i may have missed, another $340. New black floppy, black liteon DVD and black 48x burner, add another $120.

still to go in is the last front port, and internal 4 or 6 bay firewire fitted to the last available 5.25 bay, another $80 or so.

total, $1523.

i had never added it up before.

the mb, ram, hard drives and whatever migrated over from the air setup, along with all the externals.

not a project for the tightwad.

it is very quiet compared to the Delta roar i have been living with for years, it allows for insane clockage, an additional 240MHZ usable horsepower out of the same processor previously cooled with an MC462, Delta 80mm screamer, and too many other fans to mention, all at 12v. all the fans are running @7 volts of quietness, the ram is cooler just because warm heatsink air isn't getting blown onto it anymore. and, removal and replacement of the CPU is really easy with this device, easier than taking a normal bully monster heatsink off by far, just two spring loaded screws, done.

and, what is nice is the next time i upgrade, the CPU is all i need, i am already thinking a 2700+/2800+ will do a cool 3 gig, or there abouts.

i luv the silence more than anything, that and running @-9*c right now, and around -1* to -3*c while heavy gaming with around 97% cpu usage.

baldy

ouch, -9c, that some damn fine cooling. Mine runs about 60c constant with my water cooling, then again I dont have any fans on my radiator. I might sort my water cooling out one day, but I dont want any fans on it, so only thing I can think of is larger reservoir and bigger radiator.
