You pushin' our legs, Spyder? Lian-Li's are really expensive. From what I gather, they're worth it.

Both aluminum and steel cases often have no paint covering the metal inside them nowadays. It probably doesn't make any difference but a layer of paint might save you from stupidity one day. Maybe. Sorta kinda.

Zinc chromate on that shiny aluminum interior! Oh, that is Alclad? Not simply aluminum alloy? For the what MOST people pay for a Lian-Li, Alclad seems reasonable.

cloasters, if it was alclad that case would be $200 in materials alone!

zinc chromate is just corrosion proofing, its apply the the edges of an alclad sheet, or as a paint on aluminium and its alloys.

Oops, did I say alclad? I meant titanium. JK.

Instead of zinc chromate, Boeing uses a transparent green paint, sealer or whatever on the exterior of its factory fresh commercial aeroplanes.

I assume that this is the same stuff that the aluminium superstructure of ships I worked on were sprayed with. We called it "green death." If you got a fraction of a breath of this stuff, you'd understand its name.

Alclad isn't needed for an aluminum box that will live indoors. I was curious as to how much ~2 square meters of the stuff would cost. Thanks, RN!

Its about £120 a square metre, so its more like $150 per square metre i would guess. Its lovely and shiny though!

Interesting how they make it, it starts off as 3 metal sheets, several mm thick, and is rolled down, and down, until the 2 pure aluminium sheets end up as a coating a few thousandths of an inch thick!

Hmm. 120 Sterling equals $191. Ouch! Eep, you'd probably need at least 2 square Meters for a case. Maybe plain old aluminum alloy is a better idea. Sigh.

Spyder, it's a Lian Li PC-60

No, he really got it for $30. I was there. If I had the money with me right then, it would be in my house. Spyder picked it up next day (He is friends with the owner - as he mentioned - so the owner wouldn't sell it out from him). Could have sold it on eBay for ~70 or perhaps on a Forums classifieds..

It's a nice case, a little scratched, but nothing more then what happens when you toss it in the back of you car a few times to go to LAN's..
