Intel shuffles BTX in to its deep dark closet

"ntel called a meeting in Taipei with the mainboard and chassis manufacturers, our Willy managed to stealthfully get the gossip from the meeting and, we have some very interesting beans for all to gander upon. Interestingly enough, its all about one of the blocks which the axe has fallen upon. When Intel was suffering with thermals (not just CPU, but also with dual 160w Graphics cards) it launched a new method of chassis layout - called BTX."

Yeah, I've been wondering where the heck that the vaunted and anticipated BTX form factor went to. Sounded like a good idea at the time.

Probably very little for most of us. So far as I know, BTX has never really caught on in the marketplace.

BTX, i thought they'd finally scrapped that after all the case manufacturers had made adjustments. It wouldn't be the first time. People just don't want BTX, it would be just what we needed to be back in the middle of the AMD vs intel world war. "Intel are sending in their special forces Squad, codenamed "Geekatonne", to infiltrate AMD's factories while AMD have a few thousand flamethrowers waiting for them"
