First LCD mod :)

Lo all
I finally found a modding forum

Ok here's my first LCD (4x20) Mod hope you like it :P

The LCD wired http://www.tfc-gun.co.uk/boxmods/images/LCD1-1.jpg
The Wiring (note the pots (variable resistors for tweaking the contrast of the text and the brightness of the backlighthttp://www.tfc-gun.co.uk/boxmods/images/LCD3-1.jpg
Close up of the wiring http://www.tfc-gun.co.uk/boxmods/images/LCD4-1.jpg
Fixed into enclosure http://mysite.freeserve.com/Boxmods/Lcd_box3.jpg

Next step cut and spray the Bezel maybe add some neon string or LED's. Then sell it and start my next one 4x40 or a graphics one :P:P

Would be nice to hear more ideas to try too

i'll have to learn how to resize pics in future

LCD is an 4x20 character Optrex Japan make (one of the best)
The casing and stand are :-
Gooseneck pipe
TV Ariel base
and normal Black Enclosure

The software that runs it is called LCDSmartie if you do a search you can download the software free on the net and see exactly what it can do. You'll be very impressed with it
