Yeah, looks like they just made the copper base thicker so it contacts more of the pins. I'm not sure how they fit the pins in, but if they simply press or drive them in, they may see additional gains drilling smaller holes heating the block up(to make the copper expand, making the holes slightly larger) and then pressing or driving the pins in. They could also make some ground by sandblasting the exposed portion of the pins, and annodizing them black.

Like Spyder says, those heatsinks are too damn heavy(they really need a back plate for the back side of the board), and I like water-cooling better. Air-cooling is a bit like trying to ice skate up hill, sure you can do it, but it takes a hell of a lot more effort.
