HELP !!! WIN2k SETUP !!!!!

i installed win2k and as soon as it finished the install in win98(what im on now) it says it needs to reboot............then when it does the setup it runs fine UNTIL it says "starting windows 2000" then i get this BSOD message that says "boot files unreadable" yadda yadda yadda........you might have a virus.......and after scanning for viruses it comes up clean BUT IM STILL GETTING THAT ERROR MESSAGE

You should prolly format and reinstall if you can. Updating Windows is often not really succesful. Just ditch the Win98 and only install W2K.

I'd rather not format because i have worse luck doing Clean upgrades as opposed to upgrades

There is no reason for your clean installs to be less reliable than your upgrades. I urge you to take allan's advice, it is a rule among most of us that upgrades are often unreliable.

Your best bet here is to make a boot floppy and FDISK your hard drive. Then install Windows 2000 from scratch by booting from the CD.
