I managed to get a hold of this board that seemed to be freezing and lock up for no reason. The pictures show what I found and how I fixed it.

(if you can see it) basically one of the memory sockets went bad. You can see that it's cracked and thusly not all the pins are contacting the memory module that is in it.

My fix was too use an old piece of fuel line tubing from my RC car. (as you can see in the pic.

Now I just need a couple of zeon CPU's!! :) ( err and some memory :) )

Ooo, what kind of car, and what kind of engine does that run? A .15? I've got a .46 (RC plane) in my Big Stik.

He may have cross posted with your RC Post Robbie (?)

It was because of this line:

Heh, just wanted to know what you were driving (via remote, at least). Sorry if I seem crazy, it's just my way sometimes.

Well done, Rob! I'm partial to "a wing and a prayer" fixes myself.

Sorry bud, didn't catch that.

It's a Mammoth ST RTR. Nice little fast sucker. I've done a couple of slight mods too it. Like add a new set of street tires and new gears in the tranny as well as the main drive. (check out the pic)

Like all hobby's they are fun, but expensive. You can see my other thread about it here.

**EDIT**
And to answer your question it's a 24.7 engine. :)

As soon as I get back from vacation I'll send pics of my Big Stik.

How about we just keep this RC car or PC related. I REALLY DON'T wanna see any pix of your "big stik" :) lol

Redroar 6th April, 2008 03:38 PM

LOL. Its an RC plane. I figure thats close enough, right? I guess I shouldnt do this in the Crashed! forum, though. Link to RC plane

Daniel ~ 7th April, 2008 08:17 PM

Yeah...I guess that would be OK...
(Had us blushing there Big Guy! ":O}

I've been meaning to post this. This is the board that I did the "fix" too. Now I just need a couple of Xeon cpu's (anyone got a hook up?)

Can't wait for it to run! I'm thinking a server box as I kinda wanna starting having small lan's in my garage.

Samuknow 22nd April, 2008 12:57 PM

That is a slick piece of kit. Holy memory slots batman.

Should fold nicely....Sorry, I can't help myself.
