Microsoft Decries Vista PatchGuard Hack

Microsoft officials say they are unhappy that security software maker Authentium has decided to bypass the controversial PatchGuard kernel protection feature in its next-generation Vista operating system, and said that the tactic could lead to eventual problems for users of the company's software.

Looks like More proprietary MS BS being call out for what it is....an MS attempt to make inroads on security companies and their products.

"OK! OK! Everybody who wants MS handling our security when using MS products please line up on the very stupid side of the room...please, thank you!"

Personally I don't get it...MS has had ZERO interest in security up till now!

It's a profitable business now, with lots of money involved, and they want a piece of the action! Why ELSE would MS be involved?
