Security Fears Slow Virtualization
JUNE 22, 2007 | Concerns about security may be slowing the adoption of virtualization technology, according to a report issued yesterday by research firm emedia.

Half of IT organizations are either using virtualization today or planning to do so within the next 18 months, emedia found in an email survey. More than half (52 percent) say the technology introduces some new security challenges...

The cool aspects are fairly impressive though. I've been playing with the RHEL5 Xen virtualization for a little while, and I've been quite impressed by it. Some of the Xen addons / management interfaces with image repos are very cool, giving you the ability to download a set of operating system templates, and then spawn instances of them.

At this point I have only deployed one virtualization system, and its a very old one with a prooven track record.
