Question Fastest CPU for my 8KHA+ ?

Hi Guys,

My 1st post on here
I have an 8KHA+ mobo, and want to stick the fastest CPU I can in it. I've seen the recommended CPU list, and for my model it looks like I can only get a 2100+ in there
However, the more recent BIOS updates claim support for the 2400+........which is right ?

Thanks

I haven't looked at either lately, but I would trust the bios more. The bios updates are regular, and the Epox people are working hard to keep the mobo as updated as possible. THe CPU compat. list is probably dated, and is not updated nearly as often.

The 2400+ is probably the highest you'll get official support on... or the fastest CPU still running FSB @133/266.

Unofficially, I would recommend getting the best overclocking Tbred B for your CPU... If you want to go cheap, get the 1700+ and overclock it for all it's worth. If you want to spend a bit more, go for the 2100+, and take it to the highest multiplier you can.

Just keep a tab on your PCI speeds. Over 160fsb, you may need to lower your DMA settings.
