More fresh meat

Howdy. I dont remember how I found this place, but thankfully I did. This honestly has to be one of the best forums ive been in for quite some time. Info here is great and most the posters seem to have a clue. Anyway, just thought id say hey and post some info.

Current system as follows:

amd XP 1600+ (1400mgz)
Epox 8kha+
256mb OCZ 2400 ram
SB Live!
Visiontek geforce3
HPT 370 pci raid
Intel 10/100 nic
2 30gig 7200rpm Maxtor drives
Toshiba 20x dvd (I think, Supposed reads cds at 40x)
Yamaha 24x10x40 cdrw
Enermax 451wt ps (had No probs with this psu and this mobo)
Aplha 8045 heatsink with Delta 68cfm fan
120mm 114cfm fan doing the card cooling
No Flop as i broke a pin during this upgrade. grr.
All wraped up in Lian-Li PC-65 case

OC Results thus far...

Ram: Turbo Settings with Que Depth set to 2 (I think, to lazy to reboot will edit later if wrong, but not standard)
FSB 163
Multi 9.5

Temps run about 32-38 Cel idle 44 (top ive seen) under load.

I'm pretty happy with this setup thus far, but the soundcard def. has crosshairs on it for replacment...

Not really any Qs at this time unless someone can tell me zactly why it will do 163 all day np and not 164+... (I am still working on mods ect. trying it myself, but its not the pci cards) Im thinking it may be the stock cooling on the MB or possibly need more core voltage, but that will require 2 mods so im putting it off till finals are over. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and hope to be a (semi) productive member of the boards. heh.

voltage

Thanks Comp. I think your on every forum I find, or thats just a really popular name.

As for my dimm voltage I have it running at 2.80 volt, but ive had it as hight as 3.10 looking for stability with no success thusfar. Im pretty sure it lies with the 1.85 max voltage for the cpu core. (what crackbaby thought that was a good idea for a OCers board anyway?!?) Im planning on doing the mobo voltage mod and the psu 5v mod at the same time after finals are over. yay.
