8RDA+ and Twinmos 3200 timings

I'm having a hard time understanding the ram timings associated with these two.Last week i got the mobo and ram along with a raid card.still in the box i added a.s. to the bottom of the northbridge and added a fan to the top, added heatsinks to the southbridge and the mosfits.Put in case and installed O.S. and with settings at optimal proceded to test.

With 200x10 ram at optimal at sync ,8-3-3-2.5 i ran sandra and got 3034/2821.Not bad for optimal settings, but I should get a little better with more aggressive settings.I then tried 7-3-3-2 at same fsb and got 3052/2844.A little better but not really worth mentioning so i got a little more aggressive and set it to 3-3-2-2.Hard to beleive it booted but it did with my little raid cursor spinning like it was on steriods, ran sandra and was surprised to see a score of 3021/2751.Maybe a little to agressive,so i tried other settings,6-3-3-2,7-3-3-2,8-3-3-2,6-3-2-2,4-3-3-2 and many more.I even tried 210x9.5 and the same setting and still i scored within 1% of the original score.

I read the guides for ram timings and got very little from it as my understanding was limited and they tended to ramble on about how they all interacted with each other. What i cannot figure out is why the score changed so little even with the cas latency changes from 3.0 to 2.5 and 2.0.Is all ddr like this? With my old KT7AR changing the cas from 2.5 to 2.0 netted a huge difference in scoring and felt alot faster.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Some of what I read about timings is that from the least aggressive to the most aggressive is about 5%. I do know that with my Twinmos I get a slightly better score with 5-2-2-2 than I do with 3-3-2-2. The TRP and the TRD numbers make the most difference. Actually the TRAS (first number) has the smallest percentage change. I see almost no difference between 6 and 5 but I keep it at 5 anyway. I'm not sure why there isn't a big difference between CAS 2.0 and 2.5. Maybe dual channel helps here.

I dont know if you read the article here about timings and FSB speeds. It was pretty good.

You may want to compare with this:- http://www.amdforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=204083
I did quite a few tests with twinmos 3200 at diff settings keeping the CPU mhz constant.

Like you got very little diff between min and max mem settings (apart from FSB) worked it out to be the same as a change of between 2 to 4 FSB, going from min to max mem settings
