Which Thermalright HSF?

Finally, Thermalright heatsinks are available in Croatia. The SLK800 and 900 are too expensive for me (40 and 45Ł ) so I'm either getting a SK6, SK6+, SK7 or SLK 700.

Which one of those is the best? Are they better than a Volcano 9?

Thanks for any reply... I'm leaning towards SK7 tho and 45Ł is too much to give for a heatsink.

The SK7 is 20Ł btw.

Halved price and same performance as the SLK 800 and SLK 900. (it comes without the fan tho, but my SmartFan 2 is good for it)

Hmm, the SK7 is out of stock.

Is it worth getting the SLK 800 instead?

Finally, what is the difference between SLK800A and SLK800U?

Thanks.

I use the SK7 with SF2 on most of my systems. While the 8 and 9 are a little better, I don't think it is worth the extra cost. At half the price, you sacrifice 2-3c. I would dare to say it is the best combo given budget concerns.

Yeah, I'd like to know that as well. So far quite happy with my Volcano7+ but you never know when better times come

If available, the ThermalRight AX-7 is also a very good heat sink. Much better than the SK-6 series (personal experience), and almost as good as the SLK800 and SLK900 (a couple °C difference). Don't really know how the AX-7 compares to the SK-7 series. The AX-7 takes an 80mm fan, so you can get very good airflow without too much noise.

No, the AX7 is not available here.

Okay, I managed to get the cash for SLK800 and should be getting it tomorrow.

Final questions (for real )

1. Does it fit 8RDA3+?
2. If I'm not wrong, the 800A is for AMD only and 800U is AMD/Intel compatible. That's the only difference?

Okay, I just googled and such, the difference is that the 800U has that pad for the bottom and 2 more fins.

800A uses the mounting clips for socket A boards while the 800/900U use the four mounting holes around the socket for AMD and Intel boards.
