2.45 or 2.03

Hey so whats the deal with the 2.45 Nforce drivers. are they better then the 2.03's.

Last time i updated to the 2.44 i had so much problems i formatted 3 times in one day. messed.

But i have been using the 2.03 for months and have had no problems. But i see that the 2.45 drivers have not had to many threads so i guess they are good.

would you say move up to 2.45 or say with 2.03

Thanks alot

thx

Did a clean xp clone with nForce 2.45 yesterday. Well, after that, I was not able to launch Warcraft III (other games seemed to be ok), it gave me "illegal instruction referenced memory to 0x.... " error. So I did a xp clone again, this time back with 2.03 drivers, now it's ok.

The 2.45's are almost identical to the 2.44's. No IDE driver, and a newer audio driver and control panel. All else remains the same. So if you had problems with the 2.44, you will have the same with 2.45.

Why don't you image your drive before installing new drivers?

I don't have problems with the 2.45's, but I don't like the way my computer works, so I went back to 2.03, wich are the best for my system, until now.

the new audio drivers are crap on my system...

I had to install the old 2934 drivers from the 2.78 pack to get my audio to not start to mess up and loop after a few hours of gaming...

Other than that they are great...

no problems with either the 03's or 45's here, although i'm not neccessarily a good benchmark as i don't use the onbaord audio or lan - ide is still fine though

Yes it's a problem with the onboard sound only... And it doesn't happen on all systems I believe...

Well I use 2.41 since about they were released and have much better IDE speeds than 2.03 and 2.45!? I also use the onboard sound and have no problems if I keep my NB cool. However I strongly recommend a proper backup before trying 2.41's, since many people suffered from this driver. I still don't get it why?

2.45 works great for me (had probs with 2.41 & 2.42). I am using the remix from http://mwarhead.motherboardfaqs.com/index.htm.

No noticible differences really (I don't use the ide driver) but seems stable.
