Western Digitals also appear to be the most sensistive to FSB overclocking. I love the way my Seagate keeps taking it and loving it.

I think that the corruption they experienced might have been due to there memory not being stable at such a high bus speed.
That could in unfortumate curcumstances corrupt your drive.

When I overclock on the FSB i unplugg my HDD and then use memtest to check memory stability before risking my HDD.

You should also use norton ghost to allow a easy fix if data corruption should occour

P.S. I had my IBM 75XGP running at 44mhz PCI bus for six months with no problems, its just a shame that they are such unreliable buggers.
