Maximum CPU for EP-7KXA

OK, I know its a really old motherboard, but I was wondering if anybody got one to run anything higher than the specified 850Mhz Athlon "Classic"
I picked one up a while ago to replace an MSI 6167 I have, I've only just got round to getting it out the box and now I realise it apparently doesnt support the 900Mhz or 1000Mhz "Classic" CPU's I have. DOH!
I've only tried it with the 1000Mhz so far, but it stubbornly refuses to post, stalling at Code C5. (according to the manual "Call chipset hook to copy BIOS back to E000 & F000 shadow RAM)

Any and all comments appreciated.

Athlon Classic isn't 1000MHz - it is Thunderbird and those chips start at 700MHz overlapping the classics upto 900MHz.

Thats kind of strange. The 7KXA has better features than the MSI 6167 which happily runs both the 900 and 1000 Slot A CPU's I have kicking around. The MSI has only got AGPx2 and PC100 support.
Its nice and shiny though, maybe I shall hang it on the wall.
