Question Thermister faulty???

Hi, I have the Epox 9NPA+ SLI & its been a great board so far. Its running my 3200 venice nicely at 9 x 300. The little thermister thingy does not seem to be working though, its stuck on to one of my raptors and doesn't seem to be working with the epox diagnostic program that came on the motherboard cd.

Does anyone have any ideas? is it likely to be the board, the thermister or the software. Cheers

Jamie

Its a little probe that measures temps that Epox bundle with some of the motherboards. I've now noticed that its readouts work in the bios but not in the Epox UDSM program Anyone else have this problem? At least its just a software problem.

For Athlon64-based boards, I would be extremely surprised if you have a thermistor, as the CPU has an internal temperature diode built in that will be more accurate anyway. This is also true for PIII- and PIV-based boards. Even some regular Athlon boards (like my AN7) don't have a thermistor, because they get the temp from the AthlonXP's built-in thermal diode.

It's part of EPoX's Thunderprobe package. They supply a stick on thermistor with the board, so you can attach it to something you want to monitor the temperature of!

Ah, I see. That's actually rather a neat idea!
