Where is the clock generatior chip on 8rda+

There are two chips (one above the dimm slot and one next to the mosfets). Which one is the clock generator chip ?
I want to put a heat sink on it.

Will it help if I put heatsinks on the mosfets ?

Thanks.

the clock gen on the 8RDA is built into the southbridge (MCP) I believe...

why would you want a Heatsink on your PLL?

That only has an effect on VIA carp ;)

I have some spare copper heatsinks and I want to stick them somewhere :-))
I think you are right because the manufacturer/model does not look like the usual clock generator chip.

Yes.

There's no external clock generator chip with the nForce2 chipset. The clock generators are embedded in both the MCP-T and the SPP chips. Yes, there multiple clock generators. This is to allow for fully async operation of the system.

Forget everything you thought you knew about motherboards, as the nForce2 chipset does it all very differently!
