The funniest thing that happened to you...

CSS > Yesterday played on FB and while crouched to suprize Zoli on dust near tunel he jumps on me and well...he got me
BF2 > Pissing off Sorin with the bomber on Operation Clean Sweep (a little baserape involved...while he was boarding his plane to take off)

best one so far was on BF:2142 ran around a corner only to find 8 guns all pointing at me and no one did anything must have been 2-3 secs before I decided to shoot a round off and then got nailed by a stupid amount of bullets

Must have been a while ago.. like 2003 or something, but it was so damn remarkable, that i still regard it as the most weird thing ever, that happened to me in online gaming.

I was playing RTCW on a 60 player server. 30 VS 30.. server was full.. and the war between the Allies a the Axis over a bridge in operation Marketgarden was well on it's way for like 2 hours already. Teams were pretty even, not only in numbers but also in strength, and it was one big killing field. and no one could manage to blow up the other teams objective, so since this was a dual objective map.. we went in overtime and death match. With means basically that the game would not end until one team blows up the objective of the enemy. I have played 8 hour games that way.

We were a small group of 4 Allies, we were in the sewers, to try and sneak past the axis, when we ran into like 3 axis.. When one of our guys suddenly says; "Hey.. why kill each other ?.. we are all friends, right ?.. we know each other, and i simply refuse to kill any of you.,. you can kill me, thats okay, but i wont fire a single bullet at you guys..."

We all stood there, not knowing what to say, but no one fired a shot, not Allies, nor Axis.. Suddenly after a silence some Axis says; "yeah.. me too, i have had enough of all that killing.. Lets have a party instead, much more fun.. anyone have beer ?... Ill bring the bratwurst.." An Allie says; "yeah.. I have a fridge full of beer.. you bring the bratwurst, and lets go to the Allied command Center, and have some fun.. we allies will protect you.."

And so it happened.. we started shouting through out in game quick chat; "hold your fire.." - "hold your fire.." and soon others joined us.. and finally we managed to persuade all other players to cease fire, and come to acc with needle, pliers, or ammo pack out, depending in which class you played, to show your good intentions, and you could join the party.. it was an all server party.. 30 Allies, and 30 Axis.... we were dancing like crazy, and had a smoke, and a drink, with Allies and Axis alike. There were Americans, Finns, people from Hungary, Spain, The Netherlands, England, Scotland, real Germans.. Frenchman etc etc.. all with different backgrounds situations, and cultures.. And we all still managed to agree on stopping the virtual war.. no conditions were mentioned ever, just that we had enough of killing each other.

And no one shot no one.. We philosophized about what would have happened if this would have been done in the real WWII.. and basically, we went on for an hour or so..,. exchanging names and email addresses.. and generally having a lot of fun by the light of thrown, but not lit Dynamite. It has a nice green glowing light that way..

After the party.. we decided that it was time to play a game, and we escorted the axis to safety, after which we went on like before, and killed the **** out of each other, till one side won.

I still have some online friends from that occasion, an i imagine some others have too... i have never seen that being done, and never seen it being done ever since.. a spontaneous cease fire in the middle of a virtual war.. ever. It was at the very least remarkable, and it showed that peace is possible, as long as at least one refuses to kill the others.. coz i believe that half the soldiers only kill the other side, in the fear that he himself will be killed, if he doesn't. But given the choice, he would prefer not to shoot anyone at all, and go home to his girl, wive, and or kid.. I really believe that.

I have some screen shots and or demo's to prove this occasion.. if anyone is interested..

But searching, I found something i completely forgot. Sometimes we played woldwide games in a tournament called "Battlefield Europe" lots of games had to decide wich team ruled the world.. the Nazi's (Axis) or the Allies.. and there they had heard of our Cease Fire.. and we decided to try it again.. and it worked... LOL... Obviously peace is what a lot of people want, if there were only a few strong examples.. i got a few screens of that too..:

I hate it when that happens. i ocassionally get an awesome round like that and then comes the screaming and abuse. I simply remain silent.

But the wierdest thing that's happened to me in an MP FPS has to be....hmmm....the best i can think of was last night when i decided to start playing BF2 again...i was driving along a road across a bridge on one of the PoE maps. There were about 5 other friendly tanks and APC's following me and trying to catch up. I saw some AT Mines on the road at the end of the bridge so i stopped and called for backup to see if anyone could defuse them. Oh yeah, the tanks kept following me but they didn't stop. No, they just ran straight into me and pushed me onto the strip of AT Mines. Well, since it was essentially a 6 tank pileup, and explosions tend to spread...well, it spread. 6 Tanks/APC's destroyed by one person and only about 2 of their AT Mines exploded.

I decided it wasn't such a good idea to lead the rest of my team (and some of them in my squad) across that bridge again (i'm surprised to bridge was still standing after that). Sure enough, they all stopped when they got to the edge of the road leading off towards that bridge and just looked.

I should have got pics, it was just so funny when you saw 6 tanks/APC's all destroyed by one person.

Being an Admin myself, for the Jolt online gaming community, i can tell you that that Admin is a power abusing, stupid moron, that has no idea what he is doing. He has no clue of what the difference between cheating and being l337 is.. And he prolly wouldn't know his own ass from his balls, and end up shooting both off, just to be sure..

That wont happen to u on one of the servers i am Admin over m8.. For i am an ******* on duty, i am harsh.. not really a second chance kind of a guy, but i am fair... I wont ban a player for cheating unless i am 100% sure.. by way of MD5 check, a clear demo.. or a screenshot player side.. made by the server.. i am not going to ban someone on being a good shot alone.. or maybe because he is a better shot then i am.. which was prolly the reason for your ban tbh..

I remember another weird thing. I was playing RTCW at the time, Market garden map, allied side.. in a clan scrim. Since i loved to be on defense on that map, i was left alone on defense, which is kinda stupid, because the enemy obj is exactly the Allied Command Center behind me, and you can get in by 2 ways, so it needs to be defended by at least 4 players, if they are any good that is..

but.. we were busy loosing that scrim.. and we had suffered severe losses, so we as a team decided by ventrillo, that we should make a last all out attack on the enemy obj.. a water tower, and a flood detonator. leaving only little old me on defense, because i was the best defender they had. all was fine, until i heard on my headset, that ze Germans thought the same thing, to finish us off, and attacked with all they had. so that now, i had like 10-12 incoming.. and i was there alone. my teammates weren't respawned fast enough to help me, and i was asked to take out as many as i could, using all means available to slow them down, so i could get help, hopefully just in time.

They came though the banner room, and a small corridor leading to the ACC, and i was in that banner room, facing the banner room corridor, when ze Germans where flooding in.. i started shooting, all the while strafe jumping left and right, to try avoid their bullets, expecting any moment to kick the bucket, but that didn't happen. Ze Germans panicked, and fell over each other trying to revive, and shoot me, shooting their own teammates instead, and in the end i stood there, overseeing a wall to wall carpeting of German bodies, and i was still standing. Since i was the only Allie alive, Since all my teammates were in limbo... waiting to respawn.. they could see it all from my view as a spectator. It was really silent on ventrillo after that, i can tell you..

How i did that, i really don't know, for i am certainly not one of the best players.. and in my excitement i yelled in global chat, bragging.. "and now stay out. the banner room is mine, you fooking krauts !!!.." it was so damn funny, and one of my best moments.. that i saved the demo, and used it in my second film..

Lol.. in my team there are Dutch, Belgium, German, and English people.. I am far from a racist.. But then, a kraut is a Nazi.. and not necessarily a German, so i really don't get your comment in that respect tbh...

I kick Racists of gameservers for a spiritual living, and i do it gladly.. duh..

Most disturbing i find the fact that no seems to react on it... except me, he got a life-long ban from all Jolt game servers.. no matter what game.. even in the future.. coz i put his ass on the master banlist..

I think it's cool that you ban people for being racist, but a "kraut" is generally an offensive term for anyone who is german, and it's not a nice thing to hear. Same goes for "Nazi". It annoys me in games where the sides are called, for example "Axis" and "Allies" and instead people feel the need to get on the voice coms shouting "Kill those f*c*ing Nazis!".

I guess I might be a little over sensitve, as I am German living in the UK, and I get racist abuse at least once a week, nevermind the fact I was bullied all through primary and secondary schools for it.

I got the wrong end of the stick I think, forgive me.
