Bad Hardware Year?

Maybe this should be in rants but after getting a DOA mobo yesterday for a system my neighbour asked me to build here goes.

Over the last 12 months I've lost:

XP1700
DFI Infinity
8RDA+
XMS 3200 256Mb
Asus k7V600 X - DOA yesterday
Dangerden Res - don't ask
Maxtor 40Gb DM9
9700 pro
Bad bios flashes on NF7S and 8HDA3
Internal modem, lightning strike.

Now there are going to be guys out there with far worse luck than me so what have you sent to the silicone factory in the sky lately?

My dog riped apart the cord to the control module for a sweet set of Monsoon MH-505 5.1 speakers. I solderd it back together and it worked for a day, then my dog yanked on it again and I got all kinds of feedback. I really need to fix that. Can't get a replacement part either.

I have only lost an 8RGA+ board, which was my fault.

I always use power surge/spike/lightning protection, the ones Belkin make. They also have connections for phone and TV aerials.

One day I will get round to buying a UPS.
