Question about SATA and Nforce unified drivers

i just got a SATA drive for first time and i was wondering if i should have installed the SW IDE driver that comes with the Nforce unified drivers ?
it doesnt hurt ? i should not have installed it ? It does nothing for SATA drives ?

You're not running nVRAID, so you don't technically need it. The SW IDE driver has a bit of a reputation, so if everything's running ok without it, you might not want to install it!
