Elpida Memory begins mass production of 70nm DRAM

TOKYO, JAPAN, December 25, 2006 – Elpida Memory, Inc. (Elpida), Japan's leading global supplier of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM), announced today that it has begun mass production of the DRAM industry's first 1-Gigabit and 512-Megabit DDR2 SDRAMs using 70-nanometer process technology. Manufacturing will be done at its main fab facility, Hiroshima Elpida Memory, Inc.
