Barracuda IV & HPT370 - which Patches and Drivers?

I have 2 Barracuda IVs (60GB) and a HPT370 RAID Controller Card. (BIUOS 1.0.3b)

I want to get the max. performance for videoediting. So what do you recommend - use them as single or build a RAID0? I heard that they are a little slow running RAID0.

And which drivers are the best? (WinXPpro)

VIA 4in1 - 38?
VIA Patches (latency, RAID?)
HPT370 Drivers 1.xx, 2.xx, 2.3?

At all I have 2 Barracudas and 1 Maxtor (30GB, 7200). If you recommend a single use, so how would you connect them? There are 3 IDE ports free (1 on the board 8KHA+, and the 2 on the RAID card)
